- The only Malaysian known to be saved from the atomic explosion in Hiroshima on Monday, 6th August 1945
- Revisited Japan in 1987 to film the Japan Broadcasting Corporation’s “Hiroshima in My Heart” a documentary on the dropping of the atomic bomb
- His experiences were documented in a book named Debu Hiroshima (Ashes of Hiroshima) and published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka
- Co-ordinated the Look East Policy Programme at the Centre Preparatory Education in Institut Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam
- Taught Bahasa Malaysia to the officers at the Japanese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur
- Trainee teacher posted to Malacca
- Teacher at a Malay school in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur
